July 31, 2007 Pacific Union Presents Songs for a Summer’s Evening August 9 & 10 Pacific Union Real Estate Group GMAC is pleased to announce the next in its continuing “Concerts at the Presidio” series of classical music productions. Set for 7:30 PM on two evenings, August 9 and 10 at the historic Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco, Songs for a Summer’s Evening features classic Broadway show tunes and selected opera pieces sung by four voices and accompaniment from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and other operatic programs. The event is presented to the public at no charge. “During its 30-year history, Pacific Union has in different ways supported and contributed to the community in meaningful ways,” said Bryant McOmber, producer of Pacific Union Presents and Vice President and Branch Executive at the firm's headquarters office in the Letterman Digital Arts Center at the Presidio. “The production of these classical music concerts is our effort to contribute in a tangible way to the cultural fabric of San Francisco and environs, and to provide a credible performance experience for young and emerging classical music artists.” Known since its 2005 San Francisco inaugural as “Pacific Union Presents,” the popular community concert series is produced five times a year (two performances of each concert) with the generous and ongoing support of The Presidio Trust and Sherman Clay Piano Company. Additionally, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music has emerged as an important resource for the vocal, piano and other musical talent drawn upon for Pacific Union’s series. McOmber produces the series and is ultimately responsible for program selection, venue and physical facilities arrangements, compensation for performing artists, promotion and advertising of the event. Pacific Union staff assists with reservations and on-site support during performances. Erin McOmber, music director of Pacific Union Presents, holds a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master of Music degree from Brigham Young University. A soprano, she has performed in numerous Bay Area concerts, including a number of “Concerts at the Presidio” productions. The Golden Gate Club is located at 135 Fisher Loop, at the intersection of Sheridan and Infantry Terrace, in the San Francisco Presidio. Free parking is available nearby. Seating is limited, and reservations are highly recommended. Call Pacific Union Presidio office at 415.447.6274 to RSVP. Be sure to save the date for the next Pacific Union Presents, November 1 and 2. The show will be a fully narrated concert adaptation of Bizet’s Carmen, sung in French by nine voices from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and elsewhere.
